Care tech must begin with trust.

ADVOCACY • TRUST FIRST • THE TRUST LAYER

MEET JEANETTE

I’m Jeanette Yates

I’m a caregiver advocate, speaker, and guide for care tech, with a teacher’s heart and a translator’s mind.

A woman with shoulder-length dark brown hair smiling outdoors with green foliage in the background.

I help caregivers and the organizations that support them use care tech with confidence, without overwhelm. I translate tools into real-life workflows, grounded in trust, privacy, and the emotional reality of caregiving.

Tools should feel safe, simple, and supportive.

I’ve been a caregiver since I was nine years old, so I understand what it’s like to be so focused on everyone else that your own life quietly disappears. For many caregivers, “self-care” advice feels out of touch because the real struggle is decision fatigue, family dynamics, and carrying too much for too long.

That’s why I help caregivers and the organizations that support them use caregiving technology with confidence, without overwhelm. I translate tools into real-life workflows, with a trust-first lens on privacy, safety, and the emotional reality of caregiving.

My goal is to help you protect the relationship, protect your energy, and feel capable again, one practical step at a time.

I’m here to make care tech feel doable.

WHY I DO THIS

  • Ask the right questions before you trust a tool

  • Turn tech into real-life workflows that save time and reduce stress

Three things I focus on in every conversation.

HOW I WORK

Clear guidance on tools, apps, AI, and systems, what’s useful, what’s not, and what to try first.

Care Tech, Made Human

Trust, Safety & Privacy

What to share, what to protect, and what to ask before you trust a tool, because caregivers deserve transparency.

The Emotional Layer

Burnout, guilt, fear, and family dynamics, the human realities that determine whether support actually works.

“Trust is a feature”

Before I stepped fully into caregiver advocacy, my career centered on communication, education, and community, helping people understand complex information in plain language and take practical action. That same skill set is what caregivers and caregiver-serving organizations need now as care tech becomes part of everyday life.

A teacher’s heart. A translator’s mind.

MY BACKGROUND

  • Communications Director Community Messaging and Systems

  • English teacher Middle + High school

  • Community Strategy Text In Church

  • B.A. English University of North Carolina

Caregiving changes everything, your relationships, your nervous system, your identity, and your sense of time. When you’re in it, the smallest decisions can feel heavy, and even well-meaning advice can feel disconnected from reality.

I’ve learned that support only works when it respects what caregivers are carrying. And as technology becomes more common in caregiving, AI, apps, tools, systems, the real question isn’t “what’s available?” It’s “what’s safe, what’s helpful, and what can I realistically use?”

That’s the gap I’m here to close: translating care tech through trust, clarity, and compassion, so caregivers feel capable again.

Why this work matters to me

As Seen In

“I felt relief, and finally knew what to do next.”

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

From caregivers and organizations I’ve supported.

“When I started, I felt like I was failing. Now I can care for him and care for me, and I don’t feel like I ‘suck’ at this anymore.”

— Jennifer, caregiver

“Jeanette’s guidance was a lifeline. I moved from overwhelmed and reactionary to confident and proactive, and we were able to transition my parents into assisted living safely and with far less conflict.”

— Kimberly, caregiver

“Jeanette has a wealth of knowledge and wisdom from a lifetime of experience as a caregiver. Most of us don't know what that's like until later in life as our parents age. Whether you find yourself caring for aging parents or were forced into the role of caregiver at an early age, no one prepares you for the toll it can take on your own life.”

— Joe, caregiver

I appreciated how Jeanette goes beyond the usual self-care advice. She compares self-care to tending a garden, showing how it’s not about quick fixes but about nurturing yourself in meaningful, consistent ways.

— Kass, caregiver
